William Glover

Funeral services for Mr. William Carl Glover, age 90, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2024 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Williams officiating.

Mr. Glover was born March 3, 1934 in Norristown, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late William Howard Glover and Ada Bell Hudson Glover, a daughter, Tammie Logan and two sisters, Virginia Stevens and Gail Parrish. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a welder for many years. Mr. Glover passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Mr. Glover was always full of life and loved to laugh. His life advice to his children and all that he loved (“a little”) was “do not sleep too much, do not eat too much and stay away from drugs and alcohol” and most importantly, “do not break the law, while you’re breaking the law.” By following this advice, he assured you that, you too, could live to be 90. When he wasn’t running up and down the road, he could be found at the card table, at his favorite fishing hole or in the woods hunting.

He is survived by his children, William Eugene Glover, Jimmy Dean Glover, Connie Smith, Allan (Lisa) Jenkins, Tracie (Randy) Graham, Toya (Wes) Raney, Jason (Paula) Glover and Tara (Dave) Anderson; his brothers and sisters, Katherine Gillis, Sharon Cowart, Carol Hooks, James Larry Glover and Jerry Wendell Glover. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeidon Anderson, Jaxon Anderson, Jeremy Rowe, Jerrid Foskey, Joshua Lovett, Jake Jenkins, Wesley Raney, Connor Raney, Brett Larson, Ricky Joe Hartley and Lee Hammock.
